Alcalá de Henares Opens Call for 2026 Visual Arts Prize
The Ayuntamiento de Alcalá de Henares has announced the Premio Ciudad de Alcalá de Artes Visuales 2026, a competition for original and unpublished works by visual artists who have not won previous editions. Each artist may submit one piece in painting, sculpture, installation, mixed media, or other formats (excluding performances and happenings). Works must not exceed 300 cm on any side or 200 kg, and wall-mounted pieces must be under 20 kg. The deadline for online registration is May 31, 2026. Selected works will be part of the exhibition "Alcalá Visual 2026" at the Antiguo Hospital Santa María La Rica. The single prize is €6,000, paid by bank transfer after administrative requirements are met. Unclaimed works may be forfeited after a one-month retrieval period.
