AlbumArte launches ethical code against violence on women in art world

institutional · 2026-04-27

On March 25, 2023, the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma hosted the unveiling of an ethical code of conduct aimed at combating violence against women, presented by AlbumArte. This initiative is part of the project 'Donne (non più) anonime. Confronto sul femminicidio,' led by Daniela Trincia and developed with Cristina Cobianchi since 2016. The code, crafted by Cobianchi and Trincia with additional contributions, emphasizes inclusivity in artistic spaces and prohibits any form of discriminatory language or actions. It highlights that cultural roots contribute to violence against women, which can manifest in various settings, including galleries. The code also asserts a zero-tolerance policy for individuals with a background of gender-based violence and cites the UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women and the Istanbul Convention, ratified by Italy in 2013.
