Album cover art exhibition 'Total Records' opens in Barcelona

The traveling exhibition 'Total Records: Vinyl and Photography' has arrived in Barcelona, hosted at the new spaces of the Foto Colectania Foundation in the Born district. Produced by the Rencontres de la Photographie festival in Arles and curated by French collector Antoine de Beaupré, the show explores the intersection of music and visual art through iconic album covers from the 1970s to the 1990s. Highlights include Andy Warhol's design for the Rolling Stones' 'Sticky Fingers' (1971), Iain MacMillan's photograph for the Beatles' 'Abbey Road' (1969), and works by photographers Jeff Wall, William Klein, Jean-Paul Goude, and Irving Penn. The exhibition features original vinyl records from the collection of Radio Gladys Palmera, an online radio station founded by Alejandra Fierro Eleta that promotes Latin American rhythms. Additionally, Spanish album covers from the late 1970s are on display, featuring photographers such as Javier Vallhonrat, Alberto Garcia Alix, Chema Madoz, Ouka Lele, and Alberto Schommer. The exhibition runs until March 22, 2018.
