Alberto Scodro and Silvano Tessarollo Dual Exhibition at Bassano del Grappa

The Musei Civici di Bassano del Grappa presents 'Senza nuvole', a dual solo exhibition featuring artists Alberto Scodro (Marostica, 1984) and Silvano Tessarollo (Bassano del Grappa, 1956), running summer 2020. The show explores landscape, geography, and environmental elements without excessive didactic framing. The title references the vital connection between natural cycles and sky, sun, and water, as well as territorial coordinates. Scodro, a young sculptor, exhibits ironic terracotta spinning tops referencing Earth's rotation and sunflower corolla fusions with appendages connecting to the outside, echoing de Chirico's 'Suns on Easel'. Tessarollo, an eclectic mid-career artist, delves into states of existence marked by death and decay through large charcoal drawings of dying trees resonant with the human body, and compositions using earth and mud that recall Burri's legacy. His wax branches blur natural-artificial distinctions, paralleling Scodro's fungal sculptures that accelerate physico-chemical processes via human technology. The ground floor, immersed in darkness, prepares for the light-filled upper rooms where both artists thematize energetic, violent, and dramatic aspects of natural processes. The exhibition breathes through the dialogue between the artists, transforming the space into a grand scenography where landscape revives within the white cube.
