Alberto Garutti's site-specific works debut at Ca' Corniani in Venice
Alberto Garutti, born in Galbiate in 1948, has designed three unique artworks specifically for Ca' Corniani, a 1,770-hectare estate located near Caorle, Venice, owned by Genagricola. This initiative, named Ca' Corniani – Terra d'avanguardia, is part of Generali's Valore Cultura program, which has been fostering innovation, sustainability, and cultural initiatives since 2016. Garutti emerged victorious in an international competition organized by Andreas Kipar, with the project executed by Eight Art Project and curated by Elena Tettamanti and Antonella Soldaini. The artworks symbolize 'three thresholds of access' to the estate, featuring a cycling path, pollination strips, and rows of trees, including a glowing sign, five animal portraits, and a golden roof. Genagricola's President, Giancarlo Fancel, remarked that the project represents a revitalized countryside aimed at attracting tourists. The estate is set to open in the summer of 2019.
