Alberto Garutti's Pale Ceramic Sculptures at Zoo Zone Art Forum
At Zoo Zone Art Forum in Rome, Alberto Garutti (born 1948 in Galbiate) presents two pale pink ceramic sculptures that explore poetic imagery. The exhibition borrows its title from Joseph von Eichendorff's poem "Sehnsucht" (yearning). Garutti emptied the entire gallery space, placing the two sculptures in solitary dialogue with each other, one in the main exhibition room and the other in the office area. The artist describes them as a single sculptural body separated by distance, reflecting on encounter and the ambiguous void that separates people and things in a world that has lost its ideals and boundaries. The review is by Antonello Tolve.
