Alberto Fiz curates 'La rivoluzione siamo noi' at XNL Piacenza, showcasing 150 works from 18 Italian private collections

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The exhibition 'La rivoluzione siamo noi' opens at the new XNL exhibition center in Piacenza, connected to the Galleria Ricci Oddi, which recently recovered Gustav Klimt's 'Portrait of a Lady' stolen 22 years ago. Curated by Alberto Fiz, the show brings together 150 works from 18 private Italian collections, spanning from Giorgio de Chirico to Tomás Saraceno. Fiz selected works based on collection typology, aiming to create a dialogue between modern and contemporary art. Notable lenders include Laura Mattioli (who lent a Morandi, a Laib, and a Favelli), Giuliano Gori (Sol LeWitt and Fogliati), and Gemma Testa, president of Acacia. The exhibition design by Michele De Lucchi was adapted to accommodate diverse works. Fiz describes his approach as 'hacking' collections to build a 'collection of collections'. The show includes site-specific installations by Giuseppe Penone and Mike Nelson, and a section of monochrome works in the Ricci Oddi galleries, including an Achrome by Manzoni.
