Alberto di Fabio's Ephemeral Murals Transform Puglian Estates
This summer in Puglia, the environmental project 'From wall to wall', curated by Pier Paolo Pancotto, features two cycles of parietal paintings by artist Alberto di Fabio (born 1966 in Avezzano). The site-specific works are commissioned by private owners for their historic residences: Palazzo Bacco in Melpignano (Lecce) and a villa in contrada Galeasi in Grottaglie (Taranto). The murals are ephemeral, destined to disappear. Inspired by the structure and history of the places, they use traces and veils of color to alter spatial perception, amplifying the environmental and spiritual dimension. The project continues di Fabio's 'Mandala' series, partly previewed in his recent exhibition at Galleria Luca Tommasi and further developed during quarantine.
