Albers-Honegger donation of 500+ abstract works to France

Sybil Albers and Gottfried Honegger donated over 500 abstract and geometric artworks by 164 artists to the French state. The collection includes works by Josef Albers, Mies van der Rohe, Donald Judd, Jean Arp, Max Bill, Aurélie Nemours, Richard Serra, Daniel Buren, Gerrit Rietveld, and Liubov Popova. A building designed by architects Gigon and Guyer will house the donation in the park of the Espace de l'art concret in Mouans-Sartoux, opening June 26.
