Alan Bedin's 'Musica Spontanea' Honors Demetrio Stratos at Caorle Exhibition

On June 28, 2025, in Caorle, Venice, Alan Bedin will unveil his sound installation 'Musica Spontanea' as part of the exhibition 'Surrealismo e Fantastico'. This piece integrates voice with electronic manipulation, paying tribute to Demetrio Stratos (1945–1979), the legendary vocalist of I Ribelli and Area. Bedin, who is both a performer and vocal instructor associated with Cramps Records, seeks to elevate the voice as a central artistic medium. The initiative emerged from a request by a Japanese record label and stemmed from Bedin's involvement as the artistic coordinator for Stratos's last live album, 'Concerto al Teatro S. Leonardo' (1979). Key collaborators include Paolo Tofani, vibraphonist Saverio Tasca, and producer Edoardo Piccolo. Bedin highlights the importance of audience engagement, characterizing the work as 'a fortunate exchange of sounds between instinct and technology'.
