ALA Art Prize 2021: New Corporate Collection for Naples

award · 2026-04-27

ALA, a Naples-based leader in advanced logistics and precision mechanical components for aerospace, has launched the ALA Art Prize 2021 through its ALA for Art program. Founded in 2009 by Fulvio Scannapieco and Vittorio Genna, the company aims to integrate contemporary art into the workplace. The open call is open until May 2, 2021, to Italian or foreign artists and collectives originally from or residing in Campania, or who have worked stably in the region. The winning project will receive €10,000 to cover the artist's fee and production costs, and the artwork will enter the nascent corporate collection housed at ALA's headquarters in Naples' Mostra d'Oltremare. The jury includes Lorenzo Benedetti (Curator, Kunstmuseum St. Gallen), Eugenio Viola (Chief Curator, MAMBO – Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá), and Alessia Volpe (independent curator and researcher, former Director of Fondazione Morra Greco, Naples). Vittorio Genna stated that the prize represents the company's commitment to keeping culture alive during a difficult year, emphasizing Naples as a city where contemporary art thrives in public spaces. The initiative is part of ALA's broader Corporate Social Responsibility, which included publishing its first Social Report in 2020. ALA for Art also previously sponsored cultural initiatives such as the Progetto Concerto di Imprese at Teatro San Carlo.
