Akris presents Geta Brătescu-inspired collection at Hauser & Wirth London

exhibition · 2026-05-07

Swiss fashion house Akris staged an installation at Hauser & Wirth on Savile Row, London, presenting looks from its Spring/Summer 2019 collection developed in dialogue with Romanian artist Geta Brătescu. The event included a screening of the documentary 'Akris – Fashion with a Heritage' directed by Reiner Holzemer. Creative director Albert Kriemler selected garments alongside Brătescu's works to highlight continuity between collage and clothing. Kriemler recalled visiting Brătescu's studio in Bucharest and emphasized her insistence on female autonomy across six decades. Akris, founded in St. Gallen in 1922, remains an independent house known for precision and structural clarity.
