Aipad Photography Show’s 45th Edition Spans 200 Years of the Medium
Today, April 22, marks the opening of the 45th Photography Show by the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (Aipad) at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. Approximately 65 exhibitors, primarily from the US and Europe, are participating. A new section called Focal Point features 13 individual presentations. Returning participants include Bruce Silverstein and Howard Greenberg Gallery, while Galerie Sophie Scheidecker makes its debut. Lydia Melamed Johnson, the executive director, highlights the emotional impact of photography and the importance of differentiating human-created images. The Howard Greenberg Gallery is displaying Joel Meyerowitz’s color photographs from the 1960s and 70s, coinciding with his lifetime achievement award at the International Center of Photography gala on April 28. The event runs from April 22 to 26, featuring special programs on AI and photojournalism.
