AIPAD Photography Show 2026 Highlights Latin American Voices and Gordon Parks
The 45th edition of the Photography Show, organized by the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD), took place from April 22 to 26, 2026, at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan. The fair featured exhibitors from around the world, including Be Fine Art Gallery from Taiwan, Gregory Leroy Photographs from Madrid, and Higher Pictures from Brooklyn. A notable focus was on Latin American photography, with presentations from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. Rolf Art showcased works by Argentine photographer Alicia D'Amico, capturing 20th-century Buenos Aires. Ruiz-Healy Art highlighted Graciela Iturbide, known for her portraits of Mexican people and landscapes. This emphasis on Latin American voices reflects the region's growing success at auction. Contemporary photographers also received attention: Leica Gallery debuted works by Sara Messinger and Ismail Ferdous, while Echo Fine Arts presented Frédéric David's vintage-style prints from 2025. Jackson Fine Art was a standout, featuring Gordon Parks's landmark series 'Segregation Story' from 1956, which documents Black families in Alabama during the Jim Crow era. The fair also displayed works by early pioneers such as Dorothea Lange, Brassaï, and Ansel Adams. In an age of AI, the event underscored the irreplaceable nature of photography.
