AIPAD 2026 Photography Show Highlights Latin American Focus and Social Projects
The Photography Show 2026, organized by AIPAD at the Park Avenue Armory, is running until April 26. This year's event features 82 exhibitors, with a special focus on Latin American and diaspora artists. Jackson Fine Arts is showcasing works by Sally Mann from her teenage years and Gordon Parks's 'Segregation Story' series from 1956, which marks its 70th anniversary since appearing in Life magazine about segregation in Alabama. New exhibitor Ruiz-Healy Art displayed Graciela Iturbide’s 1991 portrait of Dolores Huerta, priced at $6,250, after opting out of a Cesar Chavez portrait due to recent allegations. Throckmorton Fine Art has photos of Frida Kahlo, including a $75,000 Edward Weston portrait from 1931. Architect Jorge Mazzinghi is exhibiting for free and has been running Proyecto Calle since 2001, distributing 312 disposable cameras to unhoused individuals in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and São Paulo, with participants earning about $300 a month.
