Aimaro Oreglia d'Isola receives lifetime achievement award at Triennale Milano
Aimaro Oreglia d'Isola, an architect born in Turin in 1928, was honored with the career award at the fourth Premio italiano di Architettura, which is taking place at Triennale Milano, with an exhibition available until September 24, 2023. He completed his studies under Carlo Mollino and later became a full professor at Politecnico di Torino. Starting in 1950, he collaborated with Roberto Gabetti at Gabetti e Isola, creating significant works such as the Borsa Valori di Torino (1953) and Unità Residenziale Ovest Olivetti (1968-71). Following Gabetti's passing in 2000, he established Isolarchitetti. The jury acknowledged his impact on architectural discussions. During the award ceremony, he shared a poem by Eugenio Montale and discussed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and ethics in architecture with Letizia Pellegatta.
