AI Writing Profiles in Hong Kong EFL Classrooms
A study of 44 Hong Kong secondary students using AI chatbots for writing tasks reveals three distinct interaction profiles: AI-dominant (52%), Human-dominant (25%), and Collaborative human-AI (14%). The research, published on arXiv, analyzed screen recordings and identified ten prompting strategies including questions, searches, and detailed instructions. No significant multivariate effect of rhetorical load responsibility on writing performance was found.
