ai-technology · 2026-05-12

Vapi, an AI voice startup co-founded by Jordan Dearsley and Nikhil Gupta, has reached a valuation of $500 million following a $50 million Series B funding round led by Peak XV Partners. Amazon Ring selected Vapi's platform over 40 competitors to manage all inbound customer calls for the 2025 holiday season. As a result, Ring now directs 100% of its incoming calls through Vapi, which has led to enhanced customer satisfaction, according to Jason Mitura, vice president of software development at Amazon Ring. Vapi, which has handled over 1 billion calls and processes between 1 million to 5 million daily, serves clients like Kavak, Instawork, and Intuit. The Series B round also included investments from Microsoft’s M12, Kleiner Perkins, and Bessemer Venture Partners, raising total funding to $72 million. Vapi plans to utilize the new capital to bolster its engineering and infrastructure teams while maintaining a focus on providing enterprises with detailed control over AI agent functionality.
