AI Expands Cyber Attack Surface, Demands Rethink of Security

During the EmTech AI conference hosted by MIT Technology Review, a discussion named 'Cyber-Insecurity in the AI Era' emphasized the necessity of integrating AI into cybersecurity strategies rather than treating it as an afterthought. The complexity introduced by AI increases the attack surface, challenging traditional methods. Tarique Mustafa, who is the Cofounder, CEO, and CTO of GC Cybersecurity and its offshoot, Chorology, Inc., led the session. An inventor with numerous USPTO patents, Mustafa specializes in knowledge representation, inference calculus, and AI planning. He developed the 4th and 5th generation autonomous data leak protection platform at GC Cybersecurity. His previous roles include founding CEO/CTO of NexTier Networks and senior positions at Symantec and other firms. Mustafa earned a Rotary International Scholarship for his doctoral studies at USC and holds multiple degrees in engineering and computer science.
