Ahora Cuba: Children's Drawings and Artistic Reinterpretations at Mudec
The Mudec museum in Milan presents 'Ahora Cuba', a two-phase project exploring Cuba's past and future through children's drawings and their reinterpretation by contemporary artists. In the first phase, 53 kg of color were distributed across eight Cuban cities to children, who created over one hundred drawings depicting their reality and dreams. The number 53 references the years of the U.S. embargo. In the second phase, held in Italy, artists reworked these drawings into a personal journey reflecting Cuba's political, social, and economic changes. The resulting exhibition combines play and color as a language for communication and reflection, appealing to audiences of all ages and cultures. The project was inaugurated in summer 2016.
