Ahmet Güneştekin's 'Testimoni del tempo' at 21Art Roma
21Art Roma presents 'Testimoni del tempo', a solo exhibition by Turkish artist Ahmet Güneştekin, curated by Sergio Risaliti, running from April 30 to September 15, 2026. The show explores shared human memory through mythological figures, sacred symbols, and echoes of ancient civilizations. The exhibition includes mixed-media works, seven ceramics from the 'Twilight Memories' series, the large circular relief 'Atlante del mondo' (2026) with a spiral composition mimicking an analog camera lens, nine oil-on-canvas works using a technique that carves into paint like tapestry, bronze reproductions of ancient coins from Constantine's era, embroidered fabric pieces, and three wall reliefs evoking Eastern tradition. Born in 1966 in Batman, Turkey, Güneştekin is known for multidisciplinary practice influenced by oral culture, mythology, and collective memory, addressing absence, memory, migration, identity, and counter-memory. His works are in major institutional and private collections. He is currently completing works for 'Sessizlik' (Silence), opening May 6, 2026 at Palazzo Gradenigo in Venice, a historic building he owns and is restoring to house the Güneştekin Foundation, hosting international exhibitions and cultural events.
