Agostino Moroso, co-founder of iconic Italian design brand, dies at 94
Agostino Moroso, who co-founded the Italian design furniture brand Moroso, passed away at the age of 94, just three months following the death of his wife, Diana Manzutti. In 1952, during Italy's postwar economic revival, they established their workshop with an emphasis on high-quality furniture. By the 1960s, they began industrializing their production and worked alongside architects such as Antonio Citterio and Paolo Nava, the latter of whom designed the Onda modular sofa. In the 1980s, their children, Roberto (CEO) and Patrizia (Art Director), pushed the boundaries of avant-garde design, collaborating with Ron Arad, whose Spring Collection appeared in the Jacksons' 1995 "Scream" video. Patricia Urquiola joined in 1998, while the all-female studio Front Design produced nature-inspired creations. Moroso continues to operate as a family-run business, as noted by Anna Lombardi of MuDeFri.
