Agostino Arrivabene's Ancestral Visions at Primo Marella Gallery

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Agostino Arrivabene (b. 1967, Rivolta d’Adda) presents 'L’Oniromante' at Primo Marella Gallery in Milan, a solo exhibition of 26 works exploring dream and prophecy through hyper-realistic painting. The show includes oils on linen, tempera grassa, lapidary painting on fossilized wood and pietra paesina, a bronze sculpture, and mixed-media pieces. Highlights include 'La grande opera', an homage to Ercole de’ Roberti's throne base at Pinacoteca di Brera, depicting an alchemist in a threatening landscape referencing Plato's Atlantis; 'Eaexit', part of a cycle inspired by Eleusinian mysteries; and 'Il Miracolo di Andrea', an autobiographical talisman featuring the artist's brother Andrea, a sphinx, and Bosch-like masks. Other works include 'Sancta Sanctorum' (2024), oil on cedar with gold leaf, and 'Machina mistica' (2013) inspired by Dante's Paradiso. The exhibition runs from March 2024.
