Agos Launches Parchi Green&Smart to Revitalize Urban Green Spaces with Street Art
Financial company Agos has launched Parchi Agos Green & Smart, a project to transform neglected urban areas into eco-friendly, functional spaces through street art. Aligned with UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (Climate Action and Sustainable Cities), the initiative focuses on four dimensions: Green, Smart, Sport, and Art. The first artist involved is KayOne, who created an abstract mural on an ex-boiler in Milan, working live to engage passersby. KayOne began as a writer at 15 and founded Italy's first graffiti fanzine, Tribe Magazine, in the early 1990s. The project also includes workshops for employees on lateral thinking and creativity. Agos collaborated with Brand For The City, with technical support from WWF and Fondazione Sport City (in partnership with CONI and ANCI). After Milan, the next city may be Lucca, where a street art intervention is planned. Agos is owned 61% by Credit Agricole Consumer Finance and 39% by Banco BPM, and the project is part of its Agos for Good sustainability strategy. Jean Marie Malherbe, Agos' co-general director, stated the project aims to work in the interest of clients and society beyond business. A 2019 GFK survey found 50% of Italians in urban areas consider green space a priority.
