Agnes Questionmark's 'Nexaris Suite' Explores Cyborg and Body Horror at Tenuta dello Scompiglio

The exhibition features a three-channel installation simulating an automated surgical room, where the patient's body is reduced to technical data scanned by hyper-technological instruments and analyzed by a quantum neural network. The gaze is a central symbol, echoing Michel Foucault's 'Discipline and Punish': visual control becomes a tool of domination, but the artist also suggests possible subversion when the patient returns the gaze. Eyes become 'threshold-mirrors,' inviolable boundaries through which reality can be seen without manipulation. Questionmark raises the question of what happens when eyes themselves become objects of surgical intervention, transforming them into a battlefield between observer and observed. The installations denounce the growing technological dominance over bodies, inviting reflection on a future between utopia and dystopia. With 'Nexaris Suite,' Questionmark leads viewers into a disturbing and visionary universe, challenging them to confront the limits and possibilities of being human in an increasingly hybridized society.
