Agenzia del Demanio launches tenders to reactivate 16 disused state properties

The Agenzia del Demanio has launched a new round of public tenders to grant concessions or leases for 16 unused state properties across Italy, part of the Valore Paese Italia program. The properties include historic theatres, military barracks, railway houses, lighthouses, and a villa with frescoes by Andrea del Castagno. Among them is the Teatro Sociale di Amelia (Terni), a late 18th-century theatre with 400 seats and original wooden stage mechanisms, where actors Nino Manfredi and Alberto Sordi filmed scenes. Two properties are offered free of charge, including the Teatro Sociale, which must be used for cultural, social, environmental, and sustainable tourism activities ensuring public access. The tenders close on May 15, 2023. Regions involved: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Lazio, Lombardia, Piemonte, Sardegna, Sicilia, Toscana, Umbria. Previous tenders resulted in awards for Teatro Rossi in Pisa, Forte Pozzarello all'Argentario, and Villa alle Volte (Chigi) in Siena.
