AgentUXlab: A Design Probe for Computer Use Agent Prototyping
A team of researchers from an unnamed institution carried out two studies aimed at exploring the user experience (UX) design landscape for computer use agents and the necessary support for prototyping. They established a taxonomy comprising 21 UX considerations and, through a requirements gathering study involving 12 participants, including six specialists in agents, pinpointed five Activities and six Desired Capabilities essential for prototyping tools. Leveraging these insights, they developed AgentUXlab, a design probe that allows developers to create agents with various UX strategies for websites and assess them by running prototypes in a browser. Additionally, a user study was performed with 14 participants.
