Agata Kurzela Studio Designs Zayed National Museum Interiors with Emirati Craft and Seasonal Cycles

Agata Kurzela Studio has finalized the interior design for the Zayed National Museum located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, within the Saadiyat Cultural District. The studio oversaw creative direction, curatorship, and interior design across multiple areas, incorporating elements of Emirati culture. The design emphasizes the themes of time and material memory, drawing inspiration from the Al Durour calendar. Notable areas include the Majlis Al Shaheen, Al Liwan atrium, Majlis Al Hurr 1 and 2, and the primary Boardroom, Al Saif. The Research Library's design takes cues from Bedouin tents. Materials such as wool, ceramics, and camel leather were utilized. Collaborating designers included Abdalla Al Mulla, with carpets woven by Zuleya and artworks by Afra Al Dhaheri and others featured throughout.
