Afternoon Light 2024: New York Design Fair Highlights

Afternoon Light, the New York Design Week fair curated by Deirdre Maloney and Minya Quirk, returns for its second edition through May 19 at WSA in the Financial District. Featuring 63 exhibitors without hierarchy or walls, the event emphasizes a democratic mix of canonical brands and emerging studios. Highlights include Rarify's activations with IKONstudio and Gantri, showcasing Charles Pfister's 'SOM79' chair and Christian Borger's 'MLS-01' lamp. New lighting debuts include Sara Schoenberger's 'Coronette' collection, Stickbulb's 'Pleat' pendants, and Ryan Kahen's 'Ode to Pluto'. Symbol Audio launches a bespoke speaker using USM's Haller System. Australian hardware brand ZETR makes its US debut with Flack Studio, while Dimwit presents 'Anagrams' dimmers. Dutch tile producer Palet also debuts. RAD Furniture collaborates with Sam Klemick on the 'Post Collection', Eric Weil shows 'Carlo' collection, and Ollin presents cow-hide stools. Prices range from $17 to $14,000.
