Afterall Talk: Maria Thereza Alves on The Return of a Lake

On February 10, 2018, the fifteenth talk in the Exhibition Histories series featured artist Maria Thereza Alves, who spoke with museum director Don Genaro Amaro Altamirano, moderated by Ana Bilbao. They discussed Alves's project from 2012, titled The Return of a Lake, which she created with the Museo Comunitario del Valle de Xico in Mexico. The project explores important topics like ecology, indigenous land rights, and how community museums can act as centers of resistance.
