Afterall Symposium Reflects on 'Cities on the Move' in Bangkok
On July 20-21, 2022, Afterall hosted a symposium called 'We Can't Forget How to Move', collaborating with the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong, Central Saint Martins, Jim Thompson Art Center, and Zurich University of the Arts. The focus was on the 1999 Bangkok edition of 'Cities on the Move', a traveling exhibition co-curated by Hou Hanru and Hans Ulrich Obrist, which was unique for being held in Asia without a main institution and featured artworks throughout the city. Notable speakers included Nikita Cai and Hou Hanru. The next day, artists like Kornkrit Jianpinidnan shared their insights, moderated by Gridthiya Gaweewong.
