Afterall's Art and Decolonisation Video Series Features Gender, Museum, and University Debates

On October 19, 2018, Afterall.org introduced a video series called 'Arte e descolonização,' which delves into discussions about decolonisation that are significant for the 2020s. The series features four main conversations: the first, 'Gender and Decolonisation,' includes artist Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley and philosopher Yuderkys Espinosa Miñoso, moderated by Ana González Rueda. Next, 'Decolonising the Museum' showcases Victoria Noorthoorn from the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires and Bolivian artist Elvira Espejo Ayca, led by Amanda Carneiro. Then there's 'Decolonial Artmaking' with artists Rachael Minott and Rosana Paulino, chaired by Elisa Adami. Lastly, 'Decolonising the University' features Osmundo Pinho and Rahul Rao, with moderation by Yaiza Hernández Velázquez. The series is backed by the British Academy and the University of the Arts London.
