Afterall Presents Rodney Graham’s Phonokinetoscope at Lethaby Gallery
Afterall is launching a new One Work book by Shepherd Steiner on Rodney Graham’s 16mm film installation Phonokinetoscope (2001) with an accompanying exhibition at the Lethaby Gallery, Central Saint Martins, London, from 24 September to 9 November 2013. The work shows Graham cycling through Berlin’s Tiergarten while on LSD, with a turntable driving the projection. A conversation between Graham and Steiner will be held on 19 October at the Platform Theatre. The exhibition marks Afterall’s first such display of a publication. Luminous Books will sell psychedelic titles and One Work books. Graham also appears in Orpheus Twice at David Roberts Art Foundation (20 Sep–14 Dec 2013) and performs Softcore on 17 October. The film is on loan from Collection M.J.S., Paris, long-term loan to Mudam Luxembourg. Supported by Central Saint Martins, Hauser & Wirth, Johnen Galerie, and Lisson Gallery.
