Afterall Journal Issue 44 Launch at Scrap Metal Toronto
On February 28, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Scrap Metal in Toronto will host the launch of the 44th issue of Afterall Journal, titled 'Ethno-Aesthetics and Institutions.' The evening will feature a screening of Pia Arke's 1996 video 'Arktisk hysteri (Arctic Hysteria).' Following the film, a panel discussion is set to take place with contributions from Charles Stankievech, director of the Visual Studies program at the University of Toronto, and curator Candice Hopkins, both of whom are affiliated with the journal. This event is in partnership with the university's John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.
