Afterall ArtSchool Q&A: In Defence of Skhole
The Afterall ArtSchool program features a mix of talks about teaching methods, art, and innovative thinking. In a session called 'In Defence of Skhole', curator Julia Morandeira Arrizabalaga chats with Adeena Mey, Afterall's Managing Editor, about how schools can be places for breaking boundaries and exploring emotions, referencing Adelita Husni-Bey's experimental piece 'Postcards From the Desert Island' from 2010-2011. On January 31, 2024, Malaysian artist Sharon Chin will share her work 'Creatures on the Move (In the Death of the Night)' (2022), with Arianna Mercado and Camille Crichlow moderating. Estefanía Peñafiel Loaiza will engage in dialogue about Spivak's 'Can the Subaltern Speak?' on April 11, 2023.
