Afterall and UNIA Host Seminar 'Histor(ies) of the Present' in Seville

Afterall and UNIA arteypensamiento are co-organizing a three-day seminar titled 'Histor(ies) of the Present' at the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía in Seville, Spain, from October 29 to 31, 2013. The seminar brings together artist Alejandra Riera, curator Ruth Noack, philosophers Peter Pál Pelbart and Muriel Combes, and Afterall editors Nuria Enguita Mayo and Pablo Lafuente. The program includes presentations, film screenings, and discussions centered on the concept of 'the/our outside' and an enquiry into experiences beyond dominant thought forms. Riera will screen several works, including 'Fiction poétique – heyala helbestane' and 'Enquête sur le/notre dehors (Valence-le-Haut)', which was shown at the Palais de Tokyo during the 2012 Triennial 'Intense Proximité'. The seminar is part of an ongoing collaboration between Afterall and UNIA, and will be conducted in English, Spanish, and French.
