Afterall and TrAIN Symposium on 1989 Exhibitions

A symposium organized by Afterall and TrAIN examined the contemporary art exhibition in a global context through three case studies from 1989: 'Magiciens de la Terre' at Centre Pompidou in Paris, 'The Other Story' at Hayward Gallery in London, and the third Bienal de La Habana. The event opened with a keynote by Sarat Maharaj, with invited speakers including Thomas Boutoux, Sonya Boyce, Jean Fisher, Cuauhtémoc Medina, and Gerardo Mosquera.
