Afterall and The Showroom Launch Seminar Series with Hito Steyerl

Afterall and The Showroom in London have launched a new series of seminars and events aimed at broadening the journal's editorial influence through collaborative dialogue. These events will coincide with the release of each issue at The Showroom. The first seminar highlights the work of Berlin-based filmmaker Hito Steyerl, whose contributions are featured in Afterall issue 19 (Autumn/Winter 2008). Attendees will view two of Steyerl's films, November (2004) and Lovely Andrea (2007), followed by a discussion facilitated by the artist. The conversation will delve into themes such as the politics of representation and the expression of protest via moving images.
