Afterall and Inside-Out Art Museum Co-Host Book Launch for 'Art and its Worlds'

On 30 November 2021, Afterall and the Inside-Out Art Museum (IOAM) in Beijing collaborated to host an online launch for 'Art and its Worlds: Exhibitions, Institutions and Art Becoming Public', the newest addition to Afterall's Exhibition Histories series. Taking place from 10-11am London time / 6-7pm Beijing time, the event featured opening remarks from IOAM director Carol Yinghua Lu, a guided tour of the exhibition 'Afterall Exhibition Histories and its Worlds' (16 October 2021–27 February 2022) led by curators Huang Wenlong and Scarly Zhou, a screening by Ese Otubu, and a panel discussion with editors Charles Esche, David Morris, Lucy Steeds, and Bo Choy. This book is a collaboration between Afterall and partners including Asia Art Archive (Hong Kong), Bard College's Center for Curatorial Studies (New York), and the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg. The event was part of the Afterall Art School programme and offered simultaneous interpretation in Chinese.
