Africa Tunes: Re-Edit 1 brings 11 African artists to Pietrasanta
There's a new exhibition called 'Africa Tunes: Re-Edit 1' happening at The Project Space in Pietrasanta, curated by Annalisa Bugliani Arte. It features the works of 11 talented African artists. This show comes after a previous one at the Sant’Agostino complex that ran from January to March 2024, focusing on contemporary African art. Among the artists are Ajarb Bernard Ategwa, Nu Barreto, Armand Boua, and others. Notably, Boua's 2022 work 'Untitled' uses frottage, while Laetitia Ky's hair sculptures explore themes of colonialism and gender. Brice Esso blends African and Renaissance influences, and Esther Mahlangu presents geometric designs. Ategwa's graphics differ from Camara's creative sculptures, with Okpare and Tega examining the human form, and Yeanzi illustrating decaying bodies through paint.
