Aesthetica Film Festival and MPB launch 'The Next Shot' project with four filmmakers sharing camera equipment stories
Aesthetica Magazine and MPB have launched a project called The Next Shot, encouraging creatives to create short films centered on their filming equipment. Among the selected filmmakers are Andi Hampton, Hilary Powell, Xiona Li, and Theo Tennant. Hampton shares insights about his Arri Alexa Mini, utilized for 'Good Game,' featured in the Aesthetica Film Festival 2025. Powell reminisces about parting with her Hasselblad and exploring tin type cameras for a project highlighting South Wales' tin industry. Li merges documentary and experimental styles, focusing on the advantages of lighter equipment. Tennant discusses his Blackmagic Ursa, which contributed to his BAFTA-winning documentary 'Frontier Town.' These films will be presented during the Aesthetica Film Festival from 5 to 9 November 2025 in York and online.
