AEdicola Lambrate: A Milan newsstand reopens as a cultural hub

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

In Milan's Lambrate district, a former newsstand at via Conte Rosso has been transformed into AEdicola Lambrate, a cultural space blending art, music, and editorial products. Acquired in February 2023 by a group including Alioscia Bisceglia (project leader of Casino Royale and owner of Elita Bar) and Paolo Iabichino, the project aims to preserve the newsstand's original function while adding exhibitions, artist residencies, DJ sets, and online press reviews. Unlike similar ventures, it will not serve food or drinks. The space will host a launch performance by Liberi Edizioni on July 28, 2023, wrapping the kiosk in oversized newspapers as an 'exorcism' for abandoned newsstands. Liberi Edizioni, founded by Nicola Angrisano in Naples, uses temporary installations to highlight the decline of newsstands in Italy. AEdicola Lambrate plans to collaborate with local residents, businesses, and institutions like a school of communication, cinema, and storytelling. The official opening is set for September 2023.
