Adriano Pedrosa Reveals 332 Artists for 60th Venice Biennale Titled 'Stranieri Ovunque'

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Adriano Pedrosa, the curator for the 60th Venice Biennale, revealed that the exhibition titled 'Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere' will launch in April. This year's event will showcase 332 artists, an increase from 213 in 2022, focusing on migration-related global crises. As the Biennale's first openly queer curator, Pedrosa underscored issues of race, sexuality, and wealth. The exhibition prominently features Brazilian artists, including indigenous creators and notable figures like Claudia Andujar and Tarsila do Amaral. The Mahku collective will produce a mural at the Central Pavilion, while New Zealand's Mataaho collective will unveil an installation in the Arsenale. The display will include both emerging and established artists, categorized into Nucleo Contemporaneo and Nucleo Storico. Current president Roberto Cicutto highlighted its political relevance in light of recent global developments.
