Adriano Pedrosa Named Curator of 2024 Venice Biennale

The Venice Biennale has appointed Adriano Pedrosa as curator of the 60th International Art Exhibition, running from 20 April to 24 November 2024. Pedrosa, artistic director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo, becomes the first Latin American curator to lead the prestigious event. His curatorial practice emphasizes marginalized artists and overlooked histories, exemplified by an ongoing retrospective of Brazilian painter Judith Lauand. Previously, he served as adjunct curator of the 24th Bienal de São Paulo, co-curator of the 12th Istanbul Biennial, and curator of the São Paulo pavilion at the 9th Shanghai Biennale.
