Adriano Pedrosa Brings MASP's Glass Easels to Venice Biennale as First Latin American Curator

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Since 2014, Adriano Pedrosa has served as the director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo and is now curating the 60th Venice Biennale, marking him as the first Latin American to take on this role. He will revive architect Lina Bo Bardi's glass easel display system, which has been in use at MASP since 1968, to create a "forest of artworks" for attendees. This display will be part of the 'Italians Everywhere' section at the Arsenale's Corderie. The overarching theme of the Biennale, 'Foreigners Everywhere,' delves into concepts surrounding the Foreigner, the Queer, the Indigenous, and the Outsider. The event is scheduled from 20 April to 24 November and features artists like Frida Kahlo and Rubem Valentim.
