Adrian Paci's 'Panta Rei' at Frac des Pays de la Loire and Monash University Museum of Art

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The Frac des Pays de la Loire in Le Mans presents 'Panta Rei', a group exhibition of around thirty works from its collections, taking its title from Heraclitus's aphorism 'everything flows'. The show features Albanian artist Adrian Paci, born in Shkodra, who abandoned painting after fleeing Albania's civil war in 1997. His 35mm films and photographs explore themes of exile, migration, and the fluidity of identity. The exhibition's visual is a photograph from Paci's 'Centro di permanenza temporeana', depicting passengers boarding a gangway that leads into empty space. At the Monash University Museum of Art in Australia, Paci's film 'Per Speculum' is projected, showing children's faces reflected in a mirror that eventually shatters. The exhibition runs from January 14 to March 31, 2012 in Le Mans, and from February 1 to April 7, 2012 in Australia.
