Adrian Paci Joins Fondazione Adolfo Pini's Scientific Committee

Fondazione Adolfo Pini in Milan hosted Incontro #2, a series of eight meetings between students from Accademia di Brera and NABA, coordinated by artist Gianni Caravaggio. The program, developed after Adrian Paci joined the foundation's scientific committee, aimed to support emerging artists through workshops, dialogues, and exhibitions. Students displayed works in the foundation's courtyard gallery, engaging with the public outside academia. Paci, in an interview, emphasized the foundation's mission to nurture young talent, noting that many capable students disappear from the art scene due to lack of encouragement. He proposed the eight-session format, which included participation in Studi Festival, where NABA students prepared a show and met Brera peers. Paci advised against generic guidance, preferring tailored advice: encouraging boldness in timid students and caution in ambitious ones. He expressed skepticism about understanding the contemporary art world, despite his long career, and stressed that art is about exploring one's inner voice, not chasing success. He referenced Harald Szeemann's exhibition "When Attitudes Become Form" to illustrate how artists' daily attitudes shape their work. Paci warned against clichés and dominant paths, urging young artists to resist, play, and enjoy the journey without viewing it as a battle.
