Adjaye Associates to design new contemporary art museum in Rīga, Latvia

Adjaye Associates, a British architecture firm, has been chosen by the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation to design a new museum in Rīga, Latvia, in collaboration with Latvian architects AB3D. The building will feature flexible spaces, including smaller rooms for intimate artworks and expansive areas for large-scale installations. Its design aims to resonate with Latvia's vernacular architecture to engage a wider local audience while respecting regional traditions. The museum is expected to cost £24 million and is planned to open on 18 November 2021 in New Hanza City, Rīga.
