Adinda-Putri Palma's IN DOMUM installation debuts in Matelica
Artist Adinda-Putri Palma, born 1986, is set to debut her installation IN DOMUM at Palazzo Ottoni in Matelica, Macerata. The work is a self-supporting arch volume made of wood and straw, over 3 meters high and 3 meters long, with a walkable opening. Palma, who previously worked as a painting assistant in Damien Hirst's studio, returned to her native Marche region in 2016 after a 7,000-kilometer bicycle journey across Europe. She established her base in the hamlet of Braccano, Matelica, and undertook an eco-building self-construction project for her home in collaboration with the association A.R.I.A. Selected by the national call "Per Chi Crea," promoted by MiBACT and managed by SIAE, she developed an intervention reflecting on the culture of dwelling. Her chromatic research was inspired by Lorenzo Lotto's Annunciation from the Museo Villa Colloredo Mels collection in Recanati. The installation's architectural composition and color choices evoke protection, safety, and passage, especially in the context of pandemic isolation. IN DOMUM will travel to Recanati and other locations in the region, marking one of the first temporary exhibitions after the reopening of cultural spaces. The project aims to bring contemporary art to less accessible areas, potentially strengthening local audiences' knowledge of artists who have settled in the territory.
