Adidas and Prada launch NFT collaboration in the metaverse

digital · 2026-04-27

Adidas Originals and Prada have launched their third collaboration, the adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection, into the metaverse with a participatory NFT project. Starting January 24, users can sign up with a digital wallet to create their own NFT using a filter designed by artist Zach Lieberman. From 3000 randomly selected participants (including 1000 reserved for holders of the adidas Originals Into the Metaverse NFT and 500 for those who attempted to mint it), selected individuals can mint their photographic contribution as an NFT for free on January 26-27. The contributions will form a collective digital artwork, a mosaic of NFTs, created by Lieberman. Participants retain full ownership of their individual NFTs. The final NFT mosaic by Lieberman will be auctioned from January 28 to 31, with proceeds benefiting Slow Factory, a US charity focused on social inclusion. The artwork will also be displayed in Adidas and Prada stores worldwide. Lieberman is a New York-based artist and educator, known for performance and installations using human gestures, winner of the Golden Nica at Ars Electronica and the Interactive Design of the Year from the Design Museum in London. He is co-creator of openFrameworks, an open-source C++ toolkit for creative coding, and teaches at the MIT Media Lab, where he leads the Future Sketches group.
